Youth unemployment is a significant challenge for many states in India, including the state of Karnataka. To address this issue, the Government of Karnataka in 2023‑24 introduced the Karnataka Yuva Nidhi Scheme, aimed at providing financial assistance to educated unemployed youth (graduates and diploma holders) who are seeking employment but have not secured jobs even after a certain period post‑graduation/diploma.

The scheme was among the five guarantee promises made by the Congress party ahead of the Karnataka assembly elections. It officially took effect on 1 January 2024, with registrations beginning in late December 2023.

• Applicant must be a resident of Karnataka.
• Should be a graduate (BA, BCom, BSc, etc.) or a diploma holder.

• Should not be receiving benefits from any similar unemployment allowance schemes.

Step 1: First of all, you have to check eligibility for the scheme. For that, you have to visit the Karnataka NAD portal.

Step 2: Enter your degree/diploma details (course, year of passing, university, registration number).

Step 3: If your certificate is verified in NAD, proceed to apply.

Step 4: Open the official Seva Sindhu portal. Register/ಯುವನಿಧಿ login with your mobile number, Aadhaar, or DIGI Locker credentials.

Step 5: In the list of guarantee schemes, select Yuva Nidhi.

Step 6: Read the guidelines and click Apply Online.

Step 7: Now fill out all the required details.

Step 8: Then upload all the required documents. Now preview all details.

Step 9: Enter the Captcha and click Submit. Save/print the Acknowledgement Number for future status checks.

• Beneficiaries of the scheme must regularly submit a self-declaration of unemployment to continue receiving benefits.
• This declaration confirms that the applicant is still unemployed and not receiving salary, self-employment income, or benefits from other similar schemes.
• The self-declaration has to be submitted every 3 months through the Seva Sindhu Guarantee Schemes Portal.
• If the self-declaration is not filed on time, the monthly assistance will be stopped until compliance.
• Submission requires login with Aadhaar/mobile number and verification through OTP.
• Once submitted, the portal updates your eligibility and ensures DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) continues.
