The scheme also helps with daily living costs and study materials like books and notebooks. The money is directly transferred to the student’s bank account, making the process simple and transparent.

Depending on the city, the amount varies—students in bigger cities like Pune or Nagpur get a higher amount. Overall, this scheme aims to uplift marginalised communities by giving them a fair chance at education, whether they study in government or private colleges. Apart from this Scheme, students belonging to SC, ST, and OBC categories can also apply for the E Kalyan Scholarship, a government initiative that provides financial assistance for post-matric and higher education studies.

Here are the eligibility criteria for the Swadhar Scheme:

• This scheme is only for Maharashtra residents
• Applicant should belong to the SC or Neo Buddhist community
• Applicant should be enrolled in 10th, 11th/12th, diploma, degree, or professional courses.
• Minimum 60% marks in the previous examination.
• For differently‑abled (Divyang) students, a minimum of 40% marks is required
• Must have a valid Aadhar-linked Bank account.

Step 2: Click on the New Registration option on the homepage. If you have previously registered, log in using your credentials.
